From Appreciation to Abundance
How I tap into the highest frequency of gratitude (so you can too)
What if I told you there was a single frequency, one vibrational state, that would shift your entire life experience? Not just improve it marginally, but fundamentally transform the reality mirrored back to you?
You’ve heard our greatest teachers preach the importance of living in gratitude. But has the implied importance of living in appreciation lived up to the hype?
For a few, yes, but for most people, no.
It isn't that these teachers are teaching false information, but that most people aren't calibrating deep enough. Most treat gratitude like spiritual homework, something they "should" do but rarely commit to or go beyond a surface level. They'll jot down three things they're grateful for, check them off, and wonder why their reality isn't shifting.
The problem? They're entirely missing the deeper frequencies of appreciation.
In this article, you’ll learn to calibrate to the deeper octaves of appreciation so you can allow yourself to experience a better reality.
The Three Octaves of Appreciation
Along my journey in practicing gratitude, I notice that there are different depths to the level of appreciation that we can attune to.
Think of appreciation like a musical scale. Most people are playing in the lowest octave when there are higher, more potent frequencies available.
The First Octave: Gratitude (The Starting Point)
"I'm grateful for clean water." "I'm grateful for my job." "I'm grateful for my health."
Gratitude is where most people begin, and it's better than complaints or resistance. But there's a subtle nuance: gratitude often carries an undertone of lack or struggle. When you're grateful for something, you're also acknowledging that it could be absent. There's a hint of "I appreciate that I have this because I might not."
In the world of frequency, that whisper makes a significant vibrational difference.
The Second Octave: Appreciation (The Clean Frequency)
"I appreciate this warm coffee." "I appreciate my comfortable bed." "I appreciate the sound of rain."
Appreciation is gratitude without the components of lack or struggle. It's pure recognition and acknowledgment without the negative undertone.
Try this right now: Ground into your body and say both statements. Notice the difference in how they land in your body, which feels lighter?
"I'm grateful for my morning coffee."
"I appreciate my morning coffee."
Feel that? The second statement feels lighter, cleaner, and more expansive.
The Third Octave: Love (The Highest Frequency)
"I love you, morning sunshine." "I love you, soft blanket." "I love you, delicious meal."
This is where the real magic happens. When you practice appreciation through love, you're calibrating to the most potent frequency. Love dissolves resistance instantly. It's impossible to love and resist something simultaneously. When you practice appreciation through love, you're practicing the highest frequency of gratitude.
Feel the difference:
"I appreciate this delicious coffee."
"I love you, delicious coffee."
Notice how the second statement creates an immediate shift in your nervous system. A softening, an opening, a sense of connection that goes beyond a simple acknowledgment.
When you love something, you are explicitly stating your highest appreciation for it.
Why This Matters for Your Reality
Here's a key point about the Law of Attraction: reality responds to your vibrational state, not your thoughts.
When you realize your external world mirrors your internal frequency, appreciation becomes the fastest route to a reality upgrade. You're broadcasting to the universe: "More of this, please. I'm a vibrational match for beautiful experiences."
Remember, you get what you focus on, whether you want it or not.
Most people are stuck in a current reality loop. They wait for reality to improve before tapping into higher appreciation, but that reality can’t show up because your reality can only match the level of appreciation you currently practice.
My Favorite Morning Appreciation Practice - Loving Reality
I find journaling tedious. I do it when I feel inspired, but forcing myself to journal every morning before getting out of bed feels like an effort.
A few years ago, I started a practice that I believe is easier and has more impact on my calibrated state of appreciation than any other gratitude practice I’ve done.
The practice is simple, as long as you remember to do it.
Just love your reality. Simple, right?
Dedicate a specific amount of time (I suggest starting with 5 minutes) to express your love (out loud or in your mind) for the things you appreciate in your reality.
"I love you, soft pillow." "I love you, morning light filtering through the curtains." "I love you, warm blanket." "I love you, comfy slippers." "I love you, peace and quiet." "I love you, dark roasted Guatemalan coffee." "I love you, beautiful rose bush."
One crucial element: feel it in your body. Don't just say the words. Let the feeling activate in your nervous system. Feel your heart area soften. Notice your chest opening up. Notice your energy field expand.
Once you've mastered the morning practice, try rampaging rapid-fire appreciation throughout your day:
"I love you, green traffic light. I love you, perfect parking spot. I love you, friendly dog. I love you, unexpected text from a friend. I love you, afternoon sunshine through my window..."
The key is consistency. Don't analyze or think, feel. Just flow from one appreciation to the next. You'll know you're doing it right when you feel a rush of good feelings and everything around you suddenly seems more beautiful.
Beyond the Practice: Living in Love Frequency
The ultimate goal isn't to practice appreciation, but to become an appreciative being. To calibrate so consistently to the love frequency that it becomes your natural state.
When that happens, you’ll notice remarkable shifts in your reality. It will reflect that frequency to you everywhere. Synchronicities increase. Opportunities appear. People treat you differently. Money flows more easily.
This is the universe's natural response. It's not happening because you've manipulated reality, but because you've aligned with the frequency that matches a new one.
The One Non-Negotiable Rule
If you take one thing from this article, let it be this: you must feel the appreciation in your body.
Most people aren’t benefiting from their appreciation practices, not because it’s not the right practice, but because they aren’t calibrating the attunement through their nervous system. Saying the words in your mind or writing them down isn’t enough; you must truly feel it.
Going through the motions without the feeling is like trying to start a car without turning the key. The practice only works when you're calibrated to the frequency, not just mentally acknowledging it.
Your nervous system is your manifestation bridge. When you feel love and appreciation flowing through your body, you're broadcasting that frequency to the universe. When you're just saying words without feeling them, you're broadcasting nothing.
Your Lovely Reality Is Waiting
Your reality is a perfect mirror of the frequencies you've been practicing. If you want different results, you need to practice different frequencies.
The question isn't whether this works; the question is whether you can commit to practicing it consistently enough to see results. Can you hold the appreciation frequency long enough, often enough, for a new reality to take hold.
Your dream reality already exists, it always has and always will. That vibrational shift between here and there might be closer than you think.
Always remember: loving your reality is the key to a lovely reality.

Love this Nick! Thank you for the shift in perspective about gratitude! I’ve been practicing making decisions from my body and not my head so this will be a new layer in way of feeling love and appreciation as well. I’m excited to see what shows up. 👏
I love the way you've explained the subtle differences between these states. Yo've painted a very easy to follow, clear picture - thank you Nick!
